WHO IS THE GLION ELECTRIC SCOOTER FOR?
Originally designed as a greener, more convenient alternative to public transportation, the Glion 215 find its fan base amongst urban professionals who are sick of the hassle of public transportation but who might find cycling unattractive or inconvenient for a variety of reasons. It’s also attractive to professionals working in large open spaces who regularly cover long distances on foot and are looking for a faster, more efficient way to go from A to B.
WHAT IS IT LIKE TO RIDE?
In two words, easy and fun! With its low centre of gravity, responsive controls, conventional twist grip throttle and brake levers the scooter is easy for anyone to ride. It is also whisper-quiet so you can have the power without the noise.
CAN I RIDE MY GLION AT NIGHT?
The scooter is fitted with a headlight and a rear fender reflector designed to be seen at night. For safety reasons, we strongly encourage riders to wear additional bright or reflective clothing while operating this scooter at all times.
CAN I RIDE IT IN THE RAIN AND CAN IT BE WASHED?
Yes, the Glion is probably the most water resistant e-scooter in its class. All electronic components exposed to the elements are water resistant and the battery compartment is carefully sealed for water resistance. Please note that no electric vehicle is 100% waterproof, so if you drive it into a lake or dump it in a pool, you’ll do some real damage. The sort of damage that won’t be covered under our warranty. Please don’t leave your e-scooter out in the rain without appropriate rain cover. We recommend that if you’re expecting rain, protect your investment by bringing it inside. With its tiny 20cm x 30cm footprint, you can leave it in the hallway.
Of course, the most important consideration in wet conditions is the safety of the rider. Small wheel applications tend to slip on wet surfaces, especially when turning. And just like with all vehicles with wheels, visibility will be reduced and braking distances increased, so we recommend riders use common sense and slow down in the rain.
CAN TWO PEOPLE RIDE ON THE SCOOTER?
The scooter was designed to carry one adult up of approx 220 lbs / 99 kg with enough braking power to handle most quick-stop situations. So, no, we don’t recommend having two people on the scooter at same time.
REMIND ME, WHAT’S THE WEIGHT AND SPEED?
The Glion Electric Scooter weighs in at a lean 26 lbs. (12 kg) with the battery installed. The battery and electric motor account for more than half its weight.
The Glion Electric Scooter’s speed is fully variable, from a crawling pace to a top speed of 15 mph (25 km/h), the maximum allowable speed for electric personal assistive mobility devices in most countries.
HOW DO I RECHARGE MY SCOOTER?
The Glion Electric Scooter can be charged conveniently using regular wall outlets via the included external charger and fully recharges in approximately 3.5 hours. The charger can take 110-240V, just like most popular consumer electronics.
WHAT IS THE WARRANTY ON THE SCOOTER?
We provide a one-year limited warranty on the product, including battery. Our goal is to create a product that can deliver 100% satisfaction to our customers.
WHAT ABOUT MAINTENANCE?
Our electric scooters are designed for minimum maintenance. With no combustion engine, lubricants, fuel, belts or drive trains it’s virtually maintenance-free.
As a rule of thumb:
- KEEP YOUR SCOOTER DRY – If you do find yourself riding your scooter in wet conditions, dry off your scooter immediately upon arrival.
- KEEP YOUR SCOOTER CLEAN – Remove dust and dirt from your scooter with a wrung-out, damp rag. Dry immediately. Never use solvents. Do not spray your scooter down with water or submerge it.
- STORAGE – Battery performance is susceptible to temperature. Do not store your scooter in direct sunlight or in a high-temperature environment like inside your car. Store your scooter indoors, out of the elements. Room temperature is ideal for storage.
Avoid storing the scooter in wet environments. Recharge the battery fully after it has been completely discharged and before storing the scooter for longer periods. Even in storage, please monitor the battery level and recharge the battery fully at least once every 3 months.
- SERVICE – Should your scooter require service, please contact customer service at firstname.lastname@example.org. Your satisfaction is our greatest priority!
HOW LONG WILL THE BATTERIES LAST?
With normal use, the lithium battery provided with your scooter should not lose more than 30% of its capacity within the first 500 charging cycles. Average battery life for a properly-maintained lithium ion battery is approximately 1,000 charge/discharge cycles, or an equivalent 3-5 years’ usage. If you notice your travel distance significantly diminished despite having a full charge, it is a sign the lithium ion battery needs to be replaced.
Fully charge the battery before storing the scooter for extended periods. Periodically recharge the battery at least once every 3 months during storage. Leaving the battery depleted and uncharged for more than 3 months could permanently damage the battery and will not be covered under our warranty.
